In this week’s Microsoft IT news, we have some exciting updates regarding three important news items: 1. Microsoft Teams: Disable attendee emails for town halls and webinars 💗 Microsoft Teams will soon release a toggle to disable attendee email notifications for town halls and webinars. This feature is useful for organizers who want to send email notifications from third-party platforms. When the toggle is turned on, attendee emails will be enabled and sent through the Teams Events email platform. When the toggle is turned off, all attendee emails from the Teams Event Email platform will be disabled. This feature will be rolled out in late May 2024. 2. Dynamics 365 Customer Service – Upgrade text-to-speech to neural voice Microsoft is retiring the standard text-to-speech voice in Dynamics 365 Customer Service on August 31, 2024. They will migrate all existing text-to-speech workstreams to use neural voices starting in July 2024. All standard voices used in voice workstreams will be deprecated on August 31, 2024, and will be migrated to neural voices in July 2024. 3. Microsoft OneDrive: Annotate PDFs with text boxes 💗 A new feature in Microsoft OneDrive allows users to annotate and save PDF files with text boxes when the files are stored in OneDrive and SharePoint. Users can access the annotation feature by opening the PDF in File Viewer and selecting Edit. They can add text by using the Add Text command and customize the text box’s color and font size.
